About the Foundation

Vision & Mission

Our vision, mission, values, and guiding principle shape every program, partnership, and act of service.

01

Our Vision

A future where every Karen person in Karen State has access to quality eye care and the opportunity to live free from preventable blindness.

We envision healthy and resilient Karen communities where every individual—regardless of where they live, their financial circumstances, or the challenges they face—can enjoy the gift of sight and the opportunity to live with dignity, independence, and hope.

Our Mission

The Dr. Nay Hser Foundation is committed to restoring sight, preventing blindness, and improving the quality of life of Karen people in Karen State by:

  • Delivering accessible and compassionate eye care services to rural, remote, and conflict-affected communities.
  • Supporting sustainable eye care through the Mobile Eye Mission Program and the Ker Paw Taw Lu Eye Clinic.
  • Promoting community eye health, early detection, and blindness prevention through education and outreach.
  • Strengthening local capacity by supporting healthcare professionals, community health workers, and future eye care leaders.
  • Building partnerships with Karen communities around the world and like-minded organizations to create lasting improvements in eye health.

Together, we strive to ensure that no Karen person loses their sight because of poverty, distance, conflict, or lack of access to healthcare.
